I am considering purchasing, but there is no way for me to see the widgets included or understand what they do. Am I able to associate the posts with a specific widget or discussion? What shortcodes are included and what are there functions.

 I think they are all present below, they aren’t obvious since the theme is white and it’s difficult to see.
